Fleet Reconditioning – 2021

In 2021 our team organized a fundraiser through McGill Seeds of Change to refurbish our fleet of boats. With help from our generous contributors, we were able to raise over $4,000 surpassing our fundraising goals. With this, the team will be able to continue to compete both safely and competitively.

We are incredibly grateful to all the friends, family and alumni who contributed and help our team repair and replace important equipment.

New Sails – 2019

Our team launched a fundraising campaign called “McGill Sailing Seeds of Change” in conjunction with the McGill Alumni Association in February 2019, with the goal of raising $8,000 to finance new race sails for our fleet of 12 420s. After receiving donations from more than sixty alumni and supporters around the world, we exceeded our goal by 47% and purchased 12 new sets of sails with McGill logos.

Since our campaign, we have used these sails for our McGill Sailing Community Regatta, CICSA’s McGill Invitational, NEISA’s McGill Cup, and CICSA’s Team Race Nationals. Click through the gallery below to see how they look in action!

New Fleet of 420s – 2015

In the spring of 2015, our team organized a Seeds of Change crowdfunding campaign to finance our first fleet of 12 420s. The fundraising was extraordinarily successful, as we received over $17,000 in donations from our friends, family, and alumni, and we were able to purchase a like-new fleet of boats in time for the 2015 fall season.

Our fleet has held up well over the past five seasons, and multiple generations of McGill sailors have greatly appreciated the opportunity to train and race in the boats!
